Dr. Viswanathan is a seasoned cybersecurity expert with over two decades of experience in research and engineering across various domains (large-scale distributed systems, space systems, and power grids). His work focuses on AI/ML-driven security solutions, engineering resilient systems, cyber risk assessments, penetration testing, modeling and reasoning, threat detection, and large-scale data analysis. He has a proven track record of developing innovative offensive and defensive security tools, leading research teams, and contributing to the global security community.
With experience spanning startups, Microsoft, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and academia, he tackles hard problems and delivers practical, high-impact security results across aerospace and critical infrastructure.
He holds a PhD in Computer Science from USC, is well-published with 500+ citations, and holds a U.S. patent for a novel cyber risk assessment tool.
